Apple Designated School
Our ADS Journey
At Matanzas High School, home of the Pirates, our vision is to cultivate courageous, innovative leaders in education. For over a decade, our one-to-one Apple program hasn't just provided devices—it has completely redefined our classrooms as vibrant centers of innovation. This commitment to excellence reached a thrilling milestone when Matanzas High School was named one of four Flagler County schools to be recognized as an Apple Distinguished School (ADS) in 2023. Building on that momentum, the following year, Flagler Schools was officially recognized as an Apple Distinguished District.
Today, technology at Matanzas is the engine that drives student inquiry and industry-level excellence. Our journey has transformed the traditional classroom experience:
-
Empowered Educators: With our 1:1 MacBook program, teachers have moved from the front of the room to working side-by-side with students as they create and innovate.
-
Real-World Entrepreneurship: In our Culinary and ESC departments, iPads serve as mobile points of sale, transforming traditional lessons into a live entrepreneurial ecosystem where students master customer service and technical fluency in real time.
-
Future-Ready Students: From crafting professional resumes and digital portfolios to earning digital media certifications, our students use their MacBooks to build tangible pathways to the modern workforce.
-
Inclusive Innovation: Through collaborative apps and accessibility features, we ensure that every learner, regardless of their starting point, can collaborate to solve real-world problems and succeed.
At Matanzas, we aren't just teaching subjects; we are teaching students how to use the best tools in the world to think outside the box, connect with global experts, and make their work matter. We invite you to see how Apple technology allows our Pirates to hold themselves accountable, strive for excellence, and shape the future. This is how we innovate.
