Graduation

Graduation for the Senior Class of 2020 will be Thursday, May 28th at 4:00pm at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center

Tickets: Seniors will receive 10 tickets on the day in which they pick up their Cap & Gown. Additional tickets will be available based on the amount of people the Ocean Center allows us to have in attendance for the ceremony.  If you plan on attending graduation, you must have a ticket to enter the Ocean Center on the day of Graduation. Tickets are free. There will be an option to pick up additional tickets from the school. 

 

What to Wear with your Cap/Gown: Graduates are not allowed to decorate caps. Please refrain from putting anything on top of your caps. Honor cords, stoles, medallions, or school related awards are only to be worn on top of your gown.More information will be handed out at the senior meeting in October and January.

Males: There are no color restrictions. Please wear clean and appropriate dress shoes and dress pants. Dress Shirts should be button up with a collar and tie or a proper collared shirt tucked in.

Females: There are no color restrictions. Please dress appropriately. You are allowed to wear a dress, skirt or slacks with a blouse, pant suit etc with clean shoes. Heels are not required.


 

Bags:
Seniors, you are not allowed to carry anything under or over your gown. Please refrain from bringing anything. Every ticket holder, including children, may carry an approved clear bag or a clutch purse. One clear bag no larger than 12”x6”x12” or a one-gallon clear “Ziploc”-style bag. One small clutch bag or purse no larger than 6.5”x6.5”, with or without a strap. Diapers and wipes may be carried in a clear bag; however, diaper bags are not permitted.

Additional clothing, blankets, etc. are allowed, as long as they are carried loosely; Preferably over the shoulder so they can get through screening faster or in an approved clear bag. Small cameras, binoculars, and cell phones may be carried loosely or in an approved clear bag

Ocean Center Security Measures in place for both Flagler County Graduations. There will be security checks before ticket holders are allowed entry into the ceremony.

 

Parking Passes:
Graduation Parking Passes are $5 per car and are required for all lots surrounding the Ocean Center. The passes will be sold at Matanzas High School during the time of Cap and Gown Distribution.  Matanzas High School graduates and families will be asked to park in the Parking Garage (Between Ora and Earl streets) and West Lots (directly behind the OC). The South Parking Lot (between Auditorium, Hollywood and Wild Olive) will be reserved for the early arrivals for the FPC Graduation. Map of Ocean Center parking below.

 

Driving Directions: The intersection of A1A and Earl Street (corner by the parking garage and water park) will be CLOSED. DO NOT try to drive A1A south from Flagler County towards the Ocean Center. The best route to the Ocean Center is International Drive towards A1A and then North to the Ocean Center using either A1A, Wild Olive, Oleander, Peninsula, or Halifax.
